19th Polar Law Symposium, 9–11 November 2026, Hamilton (New Zealand)

The organizing committee led by Prof. Trevor Daya-Winterbottom welcomes all members of the Polar Law Community to participate in the 19th Symposium to be held at The Pa, The University of Waikato, Hamilton campus, New Zealand, 9–11 November 2026.

Please follow the dedicated webpage for any updates. Important dates are below:

  • 30 April 2026: Abstract submission deadline
  • 31 May 2026: Acceptance of abstracts
  • 30 June 2026: Registration deadline for presenters
  • 16 October 2026: Last day to register
  • 9-11 November 2026: Polar Law Symposium, University of Waikato

20th Polar Law Symposium will go to Singapore in November 2027 !

On 20 January 2026, based on the application from the Singapore Management University Yong Pung How School of Law, the Co-Editors-in-Chief have decided to accept the offer to host the 20th Polar Law Symposium in Singapore. It is proposed that the Symposium will be held in November 2027 (specific dates tbc) and be organized by a team led by Associate Professor Nengye Liu. The details will be announced from the local organizing committee soon.

For those members of the Polar Law Community who would like to host the future Polar Law Symposium, please refer to the General Guidelines for Hosting the Polar Law Symposium and contact the Co-Editors-in-Chief, at least 18 months in advance of the proposed Symposium.

Any interests for hosting the future Symposia beyond 2027 should approach the Co-Editors-in-Chief at the latest 18 months prior to the expected opening of the symposium. Such interests should include the composition of the organizing committee, the financial status, and the commitment not only for the hosting of the symposium but also for editorship of the Yearbook.
